It’s also known to reduce equine obesity, and can lessen the risk of laminitis in animals prone to it during periods of strong spring grass growth.
Magnesium plays an important role in nerve and muscle function, and horses deficient in this important element can show signs of nervousness, wariness, excitability, and muscle tremors.

Controls & Prevents: iO Epsom salts can also be used to ease joint pain in a horse. Soak its legs in a bucket of warm water to which you have added one cup of magnesium sulphate. This will help reduce the appearance of windgalls and the inflammation around a strained tendon or ligament. Older, arthritic horses will benefit from a 25-minute leg soak.

Does your horse suffer from dandruff? Try an iO Epsom salts scrub. Mix handfuls of Epsom salts with a small amount of water and gently massage your horse in circular motions, then rinse off. This will leave its body feeling soft and the blood flow will be temporarily increased in the areas massaged. This will flush toxins and bring nutrients with the new blood flow.

iO Epsom Salts are also good for Insect bites, Wounds, Repellent, Laxatives, Fabric Softener and Conditioner in horses.

Due to its saline properties, it can be absorbed into the skin, as well be used to treat colics and hoof abscesses. It can also be used IV is used to treat cases of anti-arrhythmics in equines.

Quick Facts & Benefits: Electrolytes can be used to encourage drinking (e.g. during transport or if horse doesn’t like to drink away from home). Usually thirst/drinking is stimulated within 3-4 hours after dosing. Horses administered any form of electrolytes need to be consuming adequate water. Electrolytes should never be force fed to a dehydrated horse, and any horses supplemented with electrolytes should be monitored for dehydration (skin pinch test, mucous membrane color and hydration, capillary refill).

Dose Rates & Administration Instructions: The rate of use should correspond to sweat loss. Give daily, dividing the dose and mixing 1 scoop with each feed. Scoop provided is equivalent to 30gm.
Heavy work – intensive exercise: 90g daily

Dose Rates & Administration Instructions: Rate of Use: Always make sure there is plenty of fresh, clean water available following the intake of this liquid. Horses 450kg to 500kg: Light work – 40ml in 2L of water. Moderate work – 60ml in 3L of water. Heavy work – 80ml in 4L of water.
For severely dehydrated horses: 6L to 8L of diluted solution (40ml iO Electrolyte Liquid/L of Water)
Travelling horses: 40ml to 60ml over the tongue with water during hot weather or long distances, 30 to 60 minutes before travelling. Repeat every 2 hours and again on arrival.

A shortage of minerals, such as calcium and magnesium in the body, usually after calving, can cause recumbency. Also includes Vitamin D3.

Dose Rates & Administration Instructions: For oral use only.

Adult/Pregnant/Lactating – Give 500ml daily.

If heavily pregnant – Give 500ml daily, morning and night.

Quick Facts & Benefits: iO Biotin is essential for repairing hoof defects, as well as being essential for normal skin, hair and coat development.

Dose Rates & Administration Instructions: Mix Biotin powder into the feed. Treatment with iO Biotin should continue for 6-9 months for the maximum therapeutic effect. The recommended dose rate is 15g per 100kg of body weight twice daily for medium (400kg) and heavy horses (600kg). 90g once daily for light horses (300kg) and 60g twice daily for ponies and weanlings.
Comes with 30g measured scoop for convenience.

The product appears cloudy but settles to form a sediment or curd at the bottom of the container. Apple Cider Vinegar also contains Vitamin B1 2g/L. Horses are able to synthesise Vitamin B1 in the colon by bacterial action, however, further supplement of this vitamin is beneficial in horses fed poor quality pasture, hay and grain.
